If you are about to build in Paraguay, the first meeting with a construction firm often lasts an hour and leaves a feeling: trust or fog. The mistake is going there to be sold an image. A useful meeting is different: you leave with answers about works you can visit, how a budget is built, and who will talk to you when the lot does not match the drawing.
Ask to see a site, not only a folder
A on-screen portfolio can be assembled in an afternoon. A site is walked. Ask for two or three visitable works, even recent dated photos. If the answer is “we will send renders later”, you already have a fact.
Who speaks and who decides
Ask who your counterpart will be in design and on site, how often you get reports, and what happens if that person is away. If you live abroad, that question matters more than the moodboard.
How the number is built
Do not demand a magic square-metre price in the first hour. Ask for the method: trades, exclusions, how changes are written down. A loose total is not an agreement.
Reading the lot and the climate
Bring photos of the land, neighbours and street. Asunción is not solved like a lot in Cordillera. Anyone who does not ask about the lot is selling a generic house.
What to take in writing
Ask for a recap: tentative scope, next steps, what they need from you. If there is no clear next step, it was not a meeting. It was a sales chat.
